Just noticed that Braida Garth is up for sale, this includes Keld Head, Yordas and all the major caves in East Kingsdale. All very important for cave access!

You have to feel sorry for these poor marginal hill farmers - how will they survive on a meagre 2.2 million retirement pot.

Once in caving ownership the land could be let for an income and the farm buildings too. Don't forget we could also milk EU subsidies (at least for as long as we're still in it...)

Read the sales literature ! Brada Garth own very few caves . The mineral rights are owned by persons unknown.
So not that simple .Always read the Information Pack before jumping to conclusions or worse still
spending other peoples money.
Anyway an unnamed man from Mendip my buy it and put fifty gates on all the caves !

with that much acreage who will know you are digging . then just say it collapsed over night  . and i thought you only need mineral rights permission if you are extracting the minerals for profit

Liz owns the hydrocarbon rights. Let's hope the mineral rights aren't owned by Ingleton 'granite' quarry  .

Mineral rights (exc hydrocarbons) usually belong to the land owner unless he has sold the rights to e.g. a mining or quarrying company, in which case this should be recorded in the deeds. The Land Registry is the place to find out, or ask the seller's estate agent. Recently, there have been cases of the Lord of the Manor claiming ancient mineral rights but I understand that these claims have no basis in modern law. Google Kirkham, Lord of Manor for more info.
