Broken Scurion :-(

Anyone want a dead scurion? Or more helpfully, know a reset factory defaults trick?

Currently it appears completely dead, no indicators leds, no light. I do get 8.4V from the battery which seems to charge normally.

It's a p4, and now 8 years old, which isn't bad going for caving gear, but should have lasted much longer. It got some condensation in the headset, and had been working ok despite that, but I'd left in a cold garage and when I came to attempt to dry it out, nothing worked.

Failing that suggestions for the best value light currently on the market? I've lost track of who's making what these days.

I'd recommend a new dive Scurion. On a blade mount so if someone, ahem, ever wanted to borrow it, it could be easily swapped over to a different helmet.

Rather than throw it away or give it away I would certainly put it on eBay, you may have a shock how much someone will pay for it to repair and upgrade.

I've had my P4 since they first landed in the UK and I'm more than happy with it. A few years ago I sent it back in to Scurion who upgraded it to the 1500 spec for a very reasonable price. The only issue I've had with mine is the battery connection which can be sorted easily with new plugs or a bit of wiggling.
Check the battery connection to the main lamp just in case. If it's not that then get in touch with Scurion, they have been super helpful to me.

I also have had my P4 Scurion since the very early days of them being available in the UK. About four years ago it developed a flicker probably due to the tight angle the cable snaked around the lip of the helmet. I contacted Scurion who suggested that I return it for repair. Which I did but unfortunately it got lost in the post after being repaired (which was just a new  cable). The lamp was not insured and the Swiss or UK post could not trace it. The guys at Scurion stated that they would replace my five year old model P4 with a new P7. I protested stating that I would be quite happy with a lamp made up from bits or would be willing to pay towards the upgrade. They insisted that they promised me a good working lamp and would not hear of payment. The new lamp arrived a week later and his been working perfectly for the past three years - mostly on digging trips.

Amazing customer service

Repair and Upgrade sounds very very good to me.

I'd be interested in knowing how much this costs. Whilst you're at it, get the batt box upgraded and a couple of packs for it.

I would love to take it off your hands. It would save me the bother of constructing my own lamp housing and battery box

All sorted by Rolf, had a couple of posting issues, but we got there. He really does offer excellent customer service to ensure you're happy. Fully recommended.

Thanks to those offering help, but I'm keeping it a bit longer.
