Bull Pot Farm

I just received the following forwarded email:

Calling All Cavers - An Appeal for Help

The future of Bullpot Farm is still under threat, while negotiations
with the landlord are proceeding to the satisfaction of both parties,
we, The Red Rose Cave and Pothole Club, are left with two options to
secure a lease. The first is to gain a grant for the redevelopment of
the farm and its adjacent buildings, for which we now have planning
permission. The second option, if we fail to gain a grant, is to
raise sufficient funds to carry out substantial repairs and
improvements ourselves (if this also fails we may have to use the
money on legal costs!).
To aid the grant application we would ask that all clubs and other
interested parties send a letter of support for the proposed
redevelopment, this has a deadline of 30th May.
Also, the Club urgently needs donations, however small (and
preferably Gift Aided).
Before you reject out of hand our request, we would ask you to
consider the following; if we were not resident at Bullpot Farm,
would access to the caves of Ease Gill be as simple as it is now?
Would it be as easy to park? We think not, and so, if you have ever
caved in Ease Gill, would ask you to dig deep now before it is too late.

If you feel able to help by writing a letter of support we will put a
sample letter of the type required on our website or email me back
for a copy Send letters to club Secretary.

Given that cavers need to stick together these days, I thought I ought to post this. It would be a shame to lose BPF - it would certainly be a setback to British Caving :(

Bull Pot has a long standing place in Uk caving history, and it would be great to see it continue to do so. It's crucial for Easegill access.

Do I understand that obtaining a lease is conditional on getting money or funding for renovations?

I'm not certain from this though, how much money needs to be raised? My guess is that it would be quite a lot....

Any chance of getting a lottery grant...?

Hope all feel able to write a letter and lend support to RRCPC. It is absolutly vital to the cause of caving, and the wider caving community they they remain at BPF.

I am not a Red Rose member - but am prepared to do my bit to make sure we do not loose out on this. What say you? :!: :!:

How can the students help, perhaps a few letters from the future of our country would help.

Perhaps CHECC can help get the Uni clubs to send something.  They have a monthly or so newsletter that goes out.

This is the contact from the website, although I'm sure someone else will come along with a more specific contact.
