Can you elaborate? Do you mean the heads of the 2nd and 4th pitches, or do you mean the 5th pitch? What do you mean by "shonky"?

The CNCC are aware of the state of the ECO Anchors in Kingsdale Bull Pot (and several other caves) all of which used the original Hilti resin in their installation. For what it's worth, these anchors have been like this for over 10 years and meet the current BCA standards, so we are in no hurry to replace them. We do however monitor them on a regular basis and in fact Les and I checked them out a couple of weeks ago. In short, yes, they look a bit shonky (whatever that means) but they are not about to fall out.

Cheers,

Glenn

Thanks Graham. The anchors are not shonky in that case....
The one I hammered back in with my stop was as shonky as they come, I think it was on the second traverse but IMOP there was that many I can`t remeber where it was,But at least all the pitch head anchores seemed to be O.K. which is the main thing.
Don`t get me wrong I am not dissing any one or anyones work, just making sure people who may go down Bull Pot are aware that they need to take a bit of care.

We did a trip down Bull Pot yesterday (sat 10th Nov) and I can't say we noticed any issues with the P hangers. There were far too many of them on the traverse to the head of the 4th pitch, that's for sure! I was surprised to see p hangers now installed on the final pitch. From memory to original way down is rigged for a thread at the junction and naturals. Do the new hangers take you further along the rift, hence an easier descent? (we didn't go down as we'd run out of kit, having originally packed for Tatham Wife!)

We went to Bull Pot on Saturday also - can't say we noticed anything shonky except my rigging!!

That said it was getting a bit tricky to see the anchors at all under all the Yorkshire Knitting!
