I’m posting this here mainly to flag up the following to the caving community generally, so plenty of folk may recall it in the future. But this is a query for CNCC officers.
In front of me is an envelope containing assorted fancy legal documents from 1966 (sixty years ago!) which constitute the CNCC access agreements for Leck and Castleton Fells. These are of historic importance and I’m looking for a good home for them. Does the CNCC have a repository for such material?
This sort of thing would prove useful to anyone writing a history of the Council in the future, or to refer back to if possible future access negotiations would benefit from a historical perspective.
Does the CNCC have a good home for this material? If not it could go to the BCL or to one of the established northern clubs with a good library. If the latter, would any CNCC officer like the opportunity to make digital copies first?
There is no great rush to sort this one out; I’d rather take the time to ensure the best outcome. But I thought asking CNCC first would be a reasonable start.
