For many years DCA had a Cave Discovery Fund which provided grants to assist caving clubs or individual cavers in meeting any material costs incurred in digging out newly discovered caves or mines. DCA Council reviewed this fund at the last AGM and given that no applications for assistance had been received for the previous 11 years it was agreed to look at revising the format of the Fund to make it simpler and more user-friendly. The revised scheme was submitted to DCA Council at the last meeting and it was agreed that this be adopted with one or two minor amendments. The monies in the Cave Discovery Fund have been transferred to the new fund. The updated details have now been placed on DCA’s website (Derbyshire Caving Association - Cave and Mine Digging Support Fund) and if you are a caver digging in the Peak District or are planning a dig you may like to have a look at the scheme and see if this could be of help to you.
