We are happy to announce the continuation of the scheme to promote Cave Conservation! Fill out a Cave Monitoring Form after a trip out in Derbyshire and include a few photos. We are striving to keep the Cave Monitoring going strong. At the end of the year we will have a random prize draw for a £50 Starless River voucher! Look at the DCA website for our Cave Conservation forms

Out of interest, Vkocher, does Natural England still actively support the Cave Monitoring Scheme in the Peak? Originally, in the Dales at least, it was set up to fulfill NE statutory obligation to monitor SSSIs etc. I have the impression that NE have suffered from devastating austerity cuts and barely function on conservation any more. That isn't to suggest that to continue monitoring in caves shouldn't carry on and be encouraged.

NE Southern informed CSCC it only had to engage with the monitoring once every decade. It will be due again next year in that region.

If you mean do they still fund DCA for running the monitoring scheme on their behalf, then the answer is "no" - as you note, NE has had its funding slashed so that gets passed down the line.
