calgaryherald.com
He had been stuck for nearly 10 hours in a notorious squeeze called 'Psych Squeeze'. As well as describing the methods involved in freeing the caver, the news reports made great play of the communications technology used by the rescue team.
Described as a cave radio system known as QDX-M, developed by volunteer members of Alberta/BC Cave Rescue,
it is capable of transmitting signals through 'more than 500 metres of solid rock'. On this occasion it was was used in a live operation for the first time.
Is this any different from Cave-Link?
