Caver Injured In Battery Fire

The Old Ruminator

Well-known member
This is recent second hand information so I hope it gets updated by those who know. A caver in Devon was carrying a spare battery for his headlamp. It was in his breast pocket of his over suit. It caught fire badly burning the caver who had to be treated in the burns unit in Plymouth. I wont name the headlamp or the cave as we need first hand updating. It may well have been a cheaper imported battery. This is important information for all cavers safety so I hope that we get the full details.
