Club Group Email Systems

I'm after some technical ideas please.

The Eldon PC use the Outlook Groups system to communicate important matters with its members. This allows anyone in the group to email a single email address and for that to be received by everyone currently in the club. We also have a smaller committee email address. This has worked well for many years, especially as it allows for easy adding/removing of people to the list as the membership and committee changes.

However Outlook Groups are limited to a maximum of 50 contacts, which i'm glad to say no longer works for the Eldon.

Does anyone know of a free alternative system to use? Google seems to mostly throw up marketing email answers, which don't allow for the two-way comms we need.

Orpheus have a hosting company on which the website is hosted and it also provides email forwarding and mail lists. We have some mail lists where emailing a certain email address automatically forwards the email onwards to all members signed up to that mail list. Members can also opt in or out of these easily by sending an email with a certain subject or whatever to the mail list email address.

I use Google Groups for the Northern Section CDG - works fine and certainly allows 2 way comms. No sure if it has a maximum number of contacts, but its definitely more than 50.

Google Groups looks like a good alternative. Group limit looks to be 100, so should be ok for now.....

Google groups works for us as well.
There were some issues with emails to/from some providers but it seems to have been resolved.

At CreweCPC we've been using groups.io for years now. Migrated our email list there when yahoo groups were discontinued. We use the free version. Haven't found the limitations compared with the paid for option to be a problem for us. There so far hasn't been any push towards upgrading from them. A single email address to send to every one in the club. A calendar system for upcoming email trip reminders, a file storage section. Can be configured to suit how you want to use it, with varying degrees of moderation. Ours is left pretty loose. I've seen free tier groups with thousands of members, so Eldon would have plenty of room for expansion. :)
