I have a desire to visit the bottom entrance of Coventosa this summer
I have done the trip of Cueto to Coventosa a few times
I've also dived the resurgence from daylight to surface up in Coventosa
The bit left to do to "complete" the system, is to pop in Coventosa turn left and make my way down the upstream end of the bottom sump touch the water "tick"
I've been planning for a while to complete the trip before I'm "too old". I'll then have done the through trip from top to proper bottom, with a gap of a few years in the middle.
So my non-caving other half is interested in doing some climbing / canyoning / via ferrata in Northern Spain
I'm happy escorting her in and doing a bit of easy rope stuff to get down to the stream way, but I think if i twisted my ankle she'd be less happy about getting out on her own and calling cave rescue
So....
Is anyone planning a trip to this system this summer that we can co-ordinate dates and trips etc. I'm happy to contribute things like the ropes for the bottom entrance in return for a bit of help. Or is anyone going to Matienzo who'd be prepared to spend a day or two helping me out ?
In a totally ideal world i'd go in Coventosa and then dive out, but that might be a bit much for her to get out on her own and would involve driving dive kit down through France and Spain, so might limit myself to dry caving
