Yesterday afternoon the team received a callout to a caver who had become the caver's version of 'cragfast' in the entrance to cave. Upon realizing the only way off the large boulder he had ended up on involved a bold step over a deep chasm he sensibly called for help. The consequences of a fall here wouldn't have been good..... Luckily he was near enough daylight to get phone signal, which is very unusual for DCRO callouts!
A team of four DCRO volunteers attended, rigged a rope safety line, provided a harness and then assisted the caver across the gap.
