deleting posts

I wrote a quick comment and pressed Post but then changed my mind. However, you can't delete a post once it's sent. So I tried to report to moderator to suggest removal, but just got "You cannot report your own post, that doesn't make sense!" Might be an idea to allow it.
 
I did something similar this morning - replied in the wrong topic. All I could do was change the text to explain what I had done by mistake.
 
This is what the mysterious 'dot' is all about. I have done the same before too. However, all I could think of to do was to go back to my post and modify it into a fullstop as it wont let you leave it completely blank.
 
If we all did that, then some clever dick could write a process that automatically scanned every week for all posts in the last seven days that had just a dot in their text, and delete them.

Might as well just allow self reporting. The mods don't seem to have any difficulty deleting posts.
 
Just PM us if you want a topic deleted but we can't guarantee that it'll get deleted if there are following comments that depend on it, as it stops the forum making sense.
