Diccan Pot traverse line replaced, But...

I have just replaced the fixed guide-line on the first pitch as it was down to a few core strands, cut through because it was tied direct to the bolt hanger.

I have used maillons at the hangers, but only had one stainless maillon spare which I have used on the bottom; the top maillon is a bit rusty already and it would be good to get this replaced by a stainless one should anyone feel so inclined.

I have also fitted a pulley and stainless maillon to the rope.  Obviously this resides at the bottom of the fixed rope so you can only use it on the UP, but this is when you get the advantage of less friction / drag form your cows tail clip.  You can clip either the pulley direct or the small maillon.  Just 'drop' it back down the rope when you get to the top.

Top tip for doing Diccan Pot:  don't leave your small tackle sack at the bottom which contains your car keys.  It makes for a long and tiring day, especially when you have been caving in Kingsdale all day and just pop down Diccan for an evening jaunt!
