It's a long time since I used my distroX2 but since I had a new cave to survey I thought I would try out SexyTopo on my mobile rather then using a PDA.
Since the distroX2 hadn't been calibrated for a long time that was the first job: I had a few difficulties getting a good calibration figure so eventually made a jig and managed to get a figure of 0.29 which is pretty good.
Then the fun began: I tested the distroX2 in the garden away from metal objects and did a shot down a straight piece of wood from both directions expecting to get azimuth values 180 degrees apart and the elevation having opposite signs. Distance and elevation data seems OK, but azimuths didn't make sense. I took a few splays in different directions and then noticed azimuth angles went from 0 to 399.9 and elevations to 99.9 - this might explain the problem
I notice on the display that the little degree symbol looks like a tiny '9' but other than that the display looks OK. The hardware version is 1.1 and firmware 2.5
SexyTopo reported that the CAL data downloaded OK - if the CAL data was duff could that cause this problem? Not sure how you can check the cal data in the distro...
Any suggestions how to fix this problem
Cheers,
Dave
