On a recent trip I was pressure washing formations with the great Mr O'Doc and two visitors ambled in. No caving gear just anoraks and a light. So the great Mr O' Doc kidnapped them for two hours and herded them down to the lake chamber for photo models. I rather doubt they ever went in a cave again.
Well – is that a good thing? OK, they 'didn't know the ropes', but at least they were adventurous enough and motivated enough to have a go, so is putting them off a good thing?
I don't know about you, TOR, but when I was a kid we got up to all sorts of stuff that would, quite possibly, be frowned on nowadays. So give them their due.
