Dow Cave Water Levels

Hi, still hoping to go down Dow with beginners, it's wet Easter Monday and Tuesday but there's potentially a dry period next Wednesday morning. Does anyone know how quick the water drops in the streamway? Also thinking of popping up Dowbergill to the flowstone but looks like a duck just before, is that likely to sump? Many thanks

The Buddhist's Temple duck you mention certainly does sump in wet weather, not sure how quickly it drops there. The passage leading up to the duck has plenty of nice helicities though so it's worth having a look at those anyway

Today
there was air space under the Bhuddist Temple today. The climb up the waterfall beyond Hobson's Choice had alot of water coming down so didn't try it. Otherwise all fine. Most of cave drops quite quickly.

In very high water the beck crossing at the cave entrance looks like something you shouldn't be getting in.
If you get through that and you enter the cave, you descend a boulder slope, and then have the choice of a high route on the left on a shelf or a lower level route on the right. In flood the right side can be a swim, normally it is welly or knee deep. If it's a swim I'd be turning back with beginners!

For extra fun, don't miss out on gloop de loop, best done as a climb up the far end, before enjoying the crawling. You will get a bit damp, but have taken plenty of beginners through. Beginners might want a rope or a close spot near the top of the climb up, there are a couple of bolts to rig something off up there.

Thanks for the inputs. Looks like the weather gods are playing ball for a change so all good. Now all ive got to do is fit into my caving gear after 6 years of armchair caving.
