Drilling gritstone

I have a vague recollection of a discussion on here a number of years ago about drilling gritstone cobbles but a quick search hasn't turned up anything. Anyway is there a conclusion about the best drill bits or is it just a case of burning through cheap bits?

In my experience, it is a case of burning through bits, cheap or expensive. Gritstone cobbles tend to wear the sides of the tip where the reducing diameter soon makes capping more difficult.

I have been drilling a lot of large gritstone cobbles of late and going through drill bits at an alarming rate.  Cheap 8mm bits only do five (180mm) holes, Bosch about 12, Hilti a few more.  Anyone have any advice they could offer?  Anyone know a good source of Hilti bits - my search results are confusing on this.
