• Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Fifth Choke - A request

Morning all. Hope you’ve had a brilliant sunny weekend.

Finally have the funding + manpower and means to dig Fifth Choke in Aggy.

Any armchair cavers / folk who’ve seen the end of it before and have any information/ideas of exactly which part to dig (or any thoughts at all about it)?

All information welcome and would be helpful

Cheers

From CSS Records Volume 19:

At the bottom of the Biza climbs, upstream goes to 5th Choke with its complex of digs on two main levels, the upper ones penetrate further.

5th Choke. This was the site a major dig by HCC and later some work by CSS. It is still intriguing.

Stream volumes on 26-6-1982:

Main Stream, upstream of 3rd Choke, 0.06 cu m per sec
Main Stream, upstream of 4th Choke, 0.07 cu m per sec
Lower Main Stream, upstream of lower waterfall 0.21 cu m per sec

ie 3 times as much water comes out of 5th Choke as goes into 4th Choke. Implies a major inlet (from Llangynidr?) between 4th and 5th Chokes.
