Fixed ropes in Notts Pot

Had an entertaining trip down there today, which was a lot wetter than I have seen before. Most of the rigging kept us nicely out of the water, but the pitch into four ways chamber had been submerged by the time we got to it on the way out. As a result I ended up rigging the fixed rope that was there as a tension line so that we could get out without drowning. So thank you and my apologies to wherever owns the fixed ropes, but currently you will need to take an extra rope to get down the pitch into four ways chamber. The rigging shouldn't have damaged your rope, but if it has, please PM me and I'll reimburse you.

I would add here that the rope at the top of the 1st (surface) pitch is really starting to show signs of wear, just where it goes over the edge. I would suggest that parties taking advantage of the fixed rigging consider taking their own short rope for this. Apart from that, I'd like to add my own appreciation to Adrian's for the excellent rigging.

Please be aware that, with the exception of the final pitch, and the climb up to the Ireby Sump inlet passage, ALL of Notts was derigged today (2 March 2022).
