Free cylinders and hose thing

3 cylinders, probably with air in them, and a hose and gauge, needing a home.

Currently in the Peak.

That "hose thing" looks like a decanting whip, which could be really useful to somebody if so.

The three cylinders seem to have have the old style taper threaded neck, rather than the modern 25 mm parallel thread. This means they're likely to be impossible to get tested in a standard dive shop. However, there's an industrial cylinder testing station at Speke called CTS which can test them and their prices are pretty good. (This would mean they can be legally and safely used but dive shops are very unlikely to agree to fill them, so they would need filling on a private compressor.)

Just mentioning this as an aid to any potential takers. (No use to me.)

Can you quote the working pressures Rob? They should be stamped on the shoulders of the cylinders, immediately preceded by the letters "WP".

Ah - I see you've shifted them. Oh well, maybe whoever claimed them will find something useful in what I just typed.

I'd better add that the price of testing at CTS is a fraction of what dive shops charge, so you only need 2 or 3 cylinders wanting tests to make the journey cost effective (relative to travel costs).

What pressure does the gauge on that hose read up to?
 
Gauge goes up to 400 bar

WP seems to be 200 bar for the two big uns, and 207 bar for the little un.

All three have a CTS sticker on indicating they were last tested in 2013
 
Thanks; that confirms that the hose is a high pressure item, probably suitable for decanting air from one tank to another (subject to the fittings at each end being male 5/8 DIN and a bleed screw somewhere in the system.)

Cylinders need testing (either hydrostatic or visual) every 2.5 years so those are over a decade out of test. They definitely will want testing before anyone fills them. Sounds like whoever previously owned them was a devotee of CTS too. ;)
