GG winch meet ‘26 question

Apologise if this is obvious. Planning on going to my first winch meet next month

Does anyone know if the GG entrances will be rigged and which ones?

Cheers

Probably everything that you could cave to main chamber from (with perhaps the exception of original Flood) will be rigged

It's the Bradford meet ....bound to have Corky's rigged? No? It is the best way into GG by a long shot.
People seem to be split on that subject. Some say Corky's others say Rat hole (although not while the beck is diverted down it 🤣). I'd like to try Corky's myself, depends what others in my group would be up for though. How forgiving is Corky's for someone benefitting from a small spare tyre? The descriptions sound a bit wriggly?

It's OK. Some people have difficulty in turning round at the first small pitch at the end of the entrance adit.

Corky's is best entered feet first. I'm getting on for 70 years old, 6'2", 44" chest and (currently) 90kg. A few years ago I did Corky's in and out without much difficulty.

I'll post a photo of the rigged entrances again, as I did a couple of years ago.

Ironic name choice that Disappointment was the one not rigged (that and OBJ), presumably Dihedral is BPC members only? (To limit numbers since it's close to the path of the winch)

Is that a long distance from entry to 1st pitch, for the backwards crawling

I understand that someone once got hung up during open week, which stopped winching.

There's an elevation at
which shows two drops, one only a metre or two from the vertical entrance, one about 20m along. From memory, it was only a few metres of reversing before the drop, again from memory the drop was a bit more than a metre.

I definitely rigged Diss last year!

I'm sure that if myself and Mr Bratchley are there midweek we will have everything rigged, we usually get all the oesoterica rigged

Corky's is better than Rat because it involves lots of caving rather than just rope.

The feet first section isn't too long, and certainly not from the entrance. Small folk can manage head first. I probably could manage the transition if if I took my boots off, but the crawl is easy enough.

What route would you recommend to a small group who has never been in this system? What is the easiest route? ( less tight passages). (Please do not offer to buy tickets :) )

Are you planning to go down on the winch and explore from the main chamber (in which case you may need to convince the club that you have suitable experience) or use other entrances (if so, how is your SRT?).

I have all the gear for SRT and I can do rebelays and deviations. I am not an expert, but a medium-level. My recent trip was to Eldon Hole south wall, 3 pitches to the bottom.
