Long story - but necessary so you understand where I'm coming from.

Several years ago I decided to learn to play guitar. I bought a cheap one and made steady progress. Much more recently I decided I was enjoying it enough to invest in a much better one. It's a really nice mid range Levin electro-acoustic guitar, which I bought new for £450 from Promenade Music at Morecambe (which is an excellent shop, incidentally).

Unfortunately I've developed a finger problem in my fret hand which makes playing awkward. It means I'm unlikely to make further progress, so I've decided to pack in playing altogether.

The guitar is hardly used and I'm happy to part with it for £250 if anyone wants it. Comes with a few extra bits and bobs (strings, flexible guitar case and maybe a capo if I can find it). It's in the Dales; send a PM if interested in buying it.

I sympathise. I have severe Dupuytren's contracture in my left hand, and haven't been able to play the piano for about four years. Fortunately, I have risen to near the top of the NHS waiting list, and hope to have a fascietomy in October, so I hope to be able to play again.

I left a battered acoustic at Bull Pot Farm a few years back—might still be kicking around if no one's claimed it. Worth asking next time someone’s up there.

I got back into playing after years off and found that short online videos didn’t really help much. Ended up trying music lessons at https://www.artmaster.com and that structure gave me a proper nudge.
