Headlamp Colour Modification

Not too long ago I got a Sofirn HS25S, which overall I'm incredibly happy with for the price, but the colour of the light compared to my fenix (which is continually breaking) is far too cool and so not great for taking phone photos. I've been looking at lighting gels or even just using a yellow sharpie to try and take some of the blue out of the beam and was just wondering whether anyone else had tried anything similar?

The proper fix is to change the LED for a high CRI one if photography is important, provided you can get one with the same form factor - probably a Cree XML or XPG.

Like so but less risky from a cost perspective:

Edit: though the pictures seem to have disappeared

With the cooler light LEDs the spectrum is heavily weighted to the blue end, filters will give odd results and prob won't work as there isn't that much warm light in the frist place.

Yes, light gels are a good idea. They’re cheap and easy to test. A yellow sharpie might work a bit, but it can make the beam look uneven.
