Hidden Earth 2006 - The UK's National Caving Conference

Hidden Earth 2006 - The UK's National Caving Conference and Exhibition is on 22-24 September at Leek High School,
Staffordshire.

Leek is a market town about 12 miles south of the spa town of Buxton,
which is at the heart of the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire.

Information about the event will be posted at
http://hidden-earth.org.uk/ in due course.

The Hidden Earth team apologises for the delay in fixing the date and
location. A venue was, in fact, booked last autumn but due to unforeseen
difficulties we had to find a new venue at short notice.

Excellent News....

:D

Pre-conference trips down Waterways ??!

...exactly what I had in mind. The only problem is it may clash with the "shortly-to-be-announced" club trip to Devoluy (which you'd be hearing about shortly)

However, I'm going to jig the dates around to see if we can do both..

It would be very cool (and a good excuse) to set up a couple of 500w halogens in Toad Haul....

I might even be pursuaded to give a talk at the conference...

We should have also discovered miles more passage by then as well.... LOL

Andy - DO offer to give a talk about your British discoveries, since many British cavers are far more interested in this than foreign stuff. The latter has increasingly dominated conferences in recent years; let's get back to what matters most!

OK, if I can organise my holiday dates around it then I'll do a talk...

It would be very good to see some Derbyshire stuff at the UK's premier caving event!
Especially when it is "in your area " so to speak. :)
You can volunteer your talk to the lecture secretary Jacky Ankerman
Contact details are on the Hidden Earth website

Ok I've sent an e-mail volunteering....

I'm also going to drum up some peeps to run a pre-conference caving trip down Waterways.....
