Many a very happy night spent there especially in the 80s staying in the SUSS hut and camping in the carpark. Greenback then John & Sue of Mendip catering for cavers needs namely beer and music. Hopefully any new owner will be more caver friendly.

I also remember that (unfortunately) it also attracted an antisocial element on occasions. My club had a small hut round the back and one night, in the early eighties I think, a bunch of morons set fire to the barn there where music equipment was destroyed. I recall looking at the inferno through the door.

FB post from 7 years ago said Alan and Elaine Greenbank had both passed away. The pub was still owned by the same family then, but the son had returned from working in one of the big London hotels, hence the fancy food!

As a mate pointed out seems strange that they have marketed it as a Leisure Facility but in his words “Right love, I’m off down the leisure facility” does sound more innocent.
