Cavers who know the Mendips will be aware that The Technical Masterpiece, the tight and tortuous rift that leads to the bottom of Eastwater Cavern, is no pushover. Having done it once unencumbered, my son Daniel, the current UBSS - University of Bristol Spelaeological Society secretary, decided to repeat it while carrying a raw egg. This video linked to below is the proof that he and his chums made it, egg intact - even managing to keep it unbroken through the fearsome squeeze aptly known as The Gates of Hell. It came second in the recent CHECC underground video competition.
