Oh shit!
I was born into the midst of a world wide conflict.
I'd rather not leave it in the same circumstances.  :(

10."Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly *why* the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now."

22."It is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."

At the risk of not making a facetious or childish comment for a change...  https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00BBPWAFQ/ would be the book to read if you enjoyed that linked article. It's written to be accessible to people who haven't read classical psychology. It was written before Putin, but he'd fit in that book all too comfortably (noting his Dresden background!)

Very interesting indeed though intensely depressing. I'm surprised Putin wasn't mentioned as an example.

"This is the first thing which Hitler did when he became German chancellor, and it is what autocrats like Vladimir Putin, Viktor Orban of Hungary and President Erdo?an of Turkey have done."

I used the Amazon link as it's an easy click, but I agree. I try to buy books from "real" sellers e.g the last book I bought was bought from Moore books. (Conglog quarry)
