The BCA have been asked to share information about the 5th Middle East Speleology Symposium to share with UK based cavers.

We are delighted to invite you to the 5th Middle East Speleology Symposium (MESS5), which will be held at the Notre Dame University (NDU) – Louaize in Lebanon on April 15, 16, 17 2026.

The MESS5 is a unique opportunity for cavers and scientists passionate about caves and karst to connect with peers from across the Middle East and beyond. We are excited to welcome both seasoned explorers and newcomers to this field for three days of sharing knowledge, experiences, and enthusiasm, followed by some optional field trips.

The symposium will continue the tradition of previous MESS events by focusing on three core thematic domains: Technical Speleology, Scientific Speleology, and Karst Management & Protection. We are also introducing a domain dedicated to Spelemedia, inviting contributions that explore the intersection of caves and media.
