A 32 m Rope is fine on it’s own for Swinsto. The biggest pitch is the second pitch on the “split pitch”.
As a spare rope I carry 20m of 8mm and 30m Rad line. I generally pack this in a dry bag inside a small caving bag and keep it separate to the main rope and attached to me.
This is only to use if something happens to the main line, with the exception of the Great Aven route where I use the 8mm to extend the pull down side of the main rope.
A bigger group and I take more “main ropes” in separate bags to “leapfrog” them.
I guess the absolute minimum you could get away with is 16m of rope and 16m of pull down cord for Swinsto
My partner and I are always fighting over the superiority of Simpsons vs Swinsto when we opt for a Kingsdale pullthrough.
I maintain Simpsons is the best but she thinks Swinsto. Now our dog is called Swinsto, but I'm still adamant Simpsons is the best! Duck + Slit Pot + bouncing down the 5 Steps; much better than a long crawl.
Looks like Swinsto it is - what a winner..
However as it was 17 votes to 10 so only 27 votes total with 784 views, I feel we may be missing a few points of view
Just saying

Good point because I did check 30 times for my share and who's to say we didn't all do the same.
My money however is that there are Lurkers out there - come on show yourselves, join the debate.
Even if you do select Simpson, it isn't the worst thing to get wrong!
