Job Opportunity: Ambulance Care Assistant / Response Team Member

Do you hold the Remote Rescue Medical Technician (cas care) certificate through volunteering with cave rescue? Or perhaps you've done an outdoor first aid course through your club or work?

If you hold one of these, other training in pre-hospital care, or you are interested in getting some, then then here is an opportunity that will let you make extra income at some of the busiest day festivals in Yorkshire including Slam Dunk, Leeds Pride, 90s Fest and Chapeltown Carnival.

We are particularly looking for extra staff for our Response Teams. Response staff either work in small Medical Response Teams to extricate patients from dense crowds at busy events, or respond to incidents by bike as part of Cycle Response Units at spread-out events like parades.

You will be able to practice and refresh your first aid and rescue skills including basic emergency care, patient assessment, radio usage and patient handling.

Additional training will be provided, and at major events you will have the support of a team of experienced healthcare professionals at the main medical centre.

PAYE positions start at £12.71 for 2026/27 (+£1 ph when working on Response Teams), rising after 6 months probation or with an increase in your clinical grade. Major events in 2026 are mostly around Sheffield and Leeds. You may be supported to gain more widely recognised and transferable qualifications in ambulance care. Pre-season training dates to be announced in the next few weeks.

Email hr@mediqas.co.uk for an application form, and mention "Response Team"

Closing date: I'd encourage you to apply as soon as possible to get training arranged and so you can apply for the events you'd like to work, but recruitment is likely ongoing through the summer season till September 2026
