Odd that nothing yet has been posted here regarding the digging awards last Saturday. I suppose its no secret to say that the winner was Home Close Hole with 499m of passage including a very large chamber. We still cannot understand why they did not dig that extra metre. Second was Stock Hill Mine Cave. The usual Mendip Round Up was a rather stunted affair with fewer presentations than usual. The evening ended a little earlier than usual but there was a good turn out and nice to see some younger diggers. Perhaps somebody would like to add a more precise review.

That's because they only claimed the length of the centreline and treated the Big F###ing Chamber as a passage 40 m long and added the width (30 m), rather than trying to eke out as much length by adding every possible inch/cm.

I'm sure there will be a proper write-up shortly. From my own perspective, I've not got anything out on CSCC comms yet as I was busy enjoying the J-Rat's on the night and didn't get to bed until the not-so-small hours of Sunday morning.
I was then caving (with @Duncan Price as it happens) on Sunday, before the Cheddar AGM and curry night, getting home at close to midnight. I'm at work today, but might get something written up tonight.
