Lateral Cleft Route and pitch below Jingling Pot West Kingsdale

Resin anchors are going to be replaced here on Saturday 14th June. The main shaft remains useable but it is unlikely that a safe descent could be made of the the lateral cleft route as we move out the cave replacing anchors. Site should be useable from the 19th onwards. The replaced anchors will have signs attached and anyone using them after this date is requested to please remove the signs. The shared pitch below cleft and main shaft will also have anchors replaced.

Out of interest what is driving the change in anchors?

Sorry should be clearer some anchors have been reported as loose and those are being replaced.

The re-anchoring has been done, and the new anchors should be OK to use from the 19th, as said. If anyone who’s going down that route in Jingling soon could take a bottle of water and wash away any drill dust you see, that would be helpful! We took (a lot of) water with us, but it wasn’t quite enough to wash everything. Most of it got used on washing out the anchor holes.
