Ley line near Ingleton?

- no it's not, but what is it?

I just happened to notice a curious linear feature when looking at the satellite view in Google near Ingleton
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.1313781,-2.4378853,1795m/data=!3m1!1e3

It starts near Cold Cotes and continues east and south-east, roughly following the A65 all the way to Askwith near Ilkley.
Disused railway line?  no - too wide and no obvious cuttings or embankments,
Remains of old road? no - too long and misses villages,
Filled-in canal?  Surely not - obviously a landing strip for UFOs, then...

Someone must know better ?  :)

Could it be the Gas pipeline that was installed a few years ago? I had thought that was north of the A65 around Clapham /Austwick though?

Ah, that would make sense - I knew there must be a sensible explanation.
Thanks Damian

If it's what I think it is, it's marked on the OS map as "Quarry (dis)"

On my Outdoor Leisure 10 it's hidden by the information panel, but you can see it on Bing Maps:

https://www.bing.com/mapspreview?setmkt=en-gb - search "The Coniston Hotel, Coniston Cold,"select Ordnance Survey maps and zoom in as necessary...

Wow, the bing aerial view just the north is amazing. Really low angle light giving a lidar type effect.

Hah! I've often wondered about that depression too, so two mysteries solved for the price of one!  Thanks all...
