Good evening, yesterday we were in Giants Hole in Derbyshire, we were heading down towards Garlands from Base Camp and heard the rumbling of thunder, or what we thought was thunder. There were a few rumbles over a couple of minutes.
It got us discussing how deep can a strike of lightening travel underground, is there a big risk being that deep or is it just entrances, initial streamways etc... that are most dangerous?
Have tried to do a bit of research online but not finding much other than not to be near entrances.
