Lightning and thunder underground

Had passed over before most groups would have met up (not that many actually cave on Mondays)

I did do a quick visit down Fernhill Cave to see if I could detect a stream beneath. But that was about 7:15pm after it had all but passed. I didn't fancy driving down Limekiln Lane whilst the wind was blowing a hooley.

Dark red is >32mm/h. The red was over Wells from 17:35 until 18:05.

Hmmm.....I wonder if that was the same one that parked on top of Bedford at about 3 this morning . Local roads were flooded, at least 1 house fire caused by lightning. I don't envy the poor buggers working 24 hours to recover Fridays train crash.....wouldn't want to go putting up a massive crane in those conditions.
