• Tony is on holiday until Saturday 20th

This means that the Travelling Shop will be out of action for a week and any inquiries sent to him won't be picked up until he's back.

In the meantime the rest of the Starless River team will be hard at work ensuring online orders are posted out to you all. Thanks everyone.

  • Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

BCA Membership

The British Caving Library will be having a stand at Hidden Earth and will have loads of books and journals looking for new homes.
Come along and have a look, no prices - everything is available on a first come, first serve basis, with an optional donation to the library.

This year we will be bringing a large number of children's books, that feature caving (fiction and non-fiction). So if you are bringing speleo-kids point them to the Library stand!

Is the BCA itself going to have a stand? I recall they didn't last year, which was a shame. With the pending rise in membership fees, a stand at Hidden Earth would be a great opportunity to help promote the BCA's work (other than the Library) and to help explain the changes.

Does the Caving Library have a copy of:

Subterranean climbers: Twelve years in the world's deepest chasm
by Pierre Chevalier (Author) ?

If so can I please borrow it to read?

I can collect from HE
