M6 closed Penrith to shap both directions 8pm tonight to 5am Monday and the same next weekend. Suspect Kendal and Kirkby Stephen will be gridlocked.
Kirkstone pass also shut due to land slip down past the queens head pub so don’t try coming that way in a camper or with a caravan as you’ll struggle on the Struggle.

I don't think Kendal should be affected. M6 is only closed between Penrith and Shap?

It's going to get even more fraught when they close/restrict the M6 bridges around Tebay.

You’re probably right but it all goes pear shaped when there’s an accident anywhere between 36 and 39. Fingers crossed there won’t be.
