Magnus goes down Mossdale

Having spent a couple of years living off grid in a little cabin in the forest near here I found this video of his particularly amusing:

All the drama of how dangerous the forest is but for all the many people living quite happily there without getting eaten by bears, it is just your average Tuesday!

Best part though was the string he tied around the door to stop bears getting in!

He's an astonishingly good athlete, generally a very interesting and likeable guy who's made a lot of great videos. The gripe I have is in the last 2 years or so he descended into sensationalism and superlative YouTube, like "the world's most deadly <insert topic here>" and constantly seeks reassurance that he could die at any moment. If only he'd stop that nonsense and go back to his old self, he'd be among the best YouTubers.

Compare the same trip with Magnus (who I happen to know had been told several times off camera it's not the deepest cave in America) surviving the America's deepest cave
Versus the people who guided him (same trip)
Both great videos but also very different!
I see your point he does get more and more dramatic as the videos go on....

Email has been sent, maybe we can get him to make caving more attractive and adventurous rather than all the horror stories 🤞

Maybe playing devil's advocate, but I suppose it's his job/income so he'll want to make the most clickable/liked content.

Providing the caving location has had a well publicised tragedy he might be up for it.

Could we crowdfund to buy Magnus a caving helmet, as he doesn't seem to have one in the video?

And where is "Mosdale Cave"?

He'd want to do something that was considered 'extreme' otherwise it wouldn't get the click bait. You'd probably have to offer to take him through the Swildons to peak his interest.

interesting video, as not a place I am going to visit, thought Alex played it quite cool over the obvious fear of magnus, and I think if I was not a caver, and saw the bits of the cave in this video, I would feel quite intimidated by the passages shown. If the video just showed someone walking through a cave, it is not going to get as much over reaction. Fair dos to the guy taking it on.
