Margaret Hunter Scarr - Bull Pot

JAA

Well-known member
I suspect very few active cavers now will remember Margaret and her husband farming at Bull Pot (although they lived at Gale Garth) but her funeral was held on Thursday. Another Swaledale resident before her marriage

The recording is an interesting one, not only because for me it’s like listening to my grandmother and the way she used to puzzle over people going down lead mines, but because a lot of those who gripe and whinge about landowners and farmers would do well to note that actually she was quite happy to work with the “red rose potholers” to find a compromise that suited everyone, was interested in what they found and cared about people’s safety under their land.
