Mendip caves access

Rod's to Bath swallet is an interesting through trip, rig the ladder in Bath swallet first mind you.

Pierre's Pot is an interesting collectors piece, especially the bottom section
Bath Swallet -if you are doing a pull through abseil, it's worth checking the connection isn't flooded (if it's very wet) before pulling your rope through. Used a jammer to get up Purple Pot, although some manage without.

Pierres upper series is good if linked with another cave. If you have been down the drainpipe in Goatchurch you can go beyond that into the dexion series (if you don't mind tight stuff) If going into the lower series of Pieres there is a bypass to the horrible downwards squeeze which is somewhat easier. Hanging gardens where the formations are is lovely.

Eastwater is a shite cave - it's gloomy, tight and unforgiving!! Swildons is a delight by comparison!!
Oh dear, you poor, misguided soul…Eastwater is a gem of a cave! Everybody knows it! A recent survey put it top of most favourite Mendip caves! Amazing I know, but absolutely true!
