Squirrel has not been seen by his friends and family for a number of weeks. He's a walker and caver and a member of the Bolton Speleo Club who lives in Bolton and Clapham, North Yorkshire. He has mobility issues and can appear frail. The police (GMP Bolton South) have issued a Facebook appeal (6th December 2017):

For those who don't do Facebook, Squirrel is described as a "white male, very slim and 5ft 7 tall with mousey brown greying hair".

I saw that on Facebook and thought it looked like Squirrel. Where was he last seen? Does anybody know anything?

A memory of Michael ?Squirrel? Wood
St Albans Caving Club were staying at the Bolton Speleo Club hut in Upper Winskill in the 1970s. After a day spent caving we all went to The Crown at Horton in Ribblesdale. Squirrel and a few other Bolton Speleo Club members were there. When a rather stuck-up snooty noised woman came and looked down her nose at the caving fraternity in the Pub, so everybody glared back at her. The following night when she came in, Squirrel was prepared for her, he had acquired a fruit loaf, tor of a large piece of it and rolled it into a dog turd shape sausage, laid it on the floor where she would have to step over it, said woman came in, stepped over ?the turd? Squirrel looked at her, picked it up and ate it. That was the last we saw of her.

RIP Squirrel.

Very sad to see this. Squirrel was a long-standing and important influence over more than 40 years in caving in the Dales. ULSA in particular will be grateful for his input to a successful televised 90s incident near Alum Pot.
