Mount Wellington: A Forgotten Cornish Mine 1969 ? 1981

Author - John Hurr, Softback, 170 printed pages ?19 + p&p
Mount Wellington was one of four mines which opened during the short lived Cornish mining boom of the 1960s and 70s. Overshadowed by neighbour Wheal Jane, its existence is now largely forgotten. John Hurr worked at Wellington as a senior manager throughout its existence and his memories help to explain the optimism and disappointment of this late chapter in the Cornish mining story.

A very worthy read, and written like a day to day work book documenting the project from its start to its closure.
I was privileged to have read a draft copy a year or so before publication and there have been many additions to it since.
John Hurr has done an excellent job here
