MTDE Amazonia II

Hi, I was wondering if anyone runs the MTDE Amazonia II without the webbing that connects the leg loops to the bum strap, and if there’s any benefit of doing so? I have had people recommending me to do this, which got me wondering ^

Cheers, Dyl

i can’t see any benefit to not having them there 🤷🏼‍♂️

When I had mine I struggled to get the bum strap the right length to be comfortable. Eventually realised this is because I was measuring it in slightly different places every time. Eventually clocked that if you position these little bits of webbing over your sit bones and then set the length of the bum strap, it increases comfort massively.

Before this I was finding it was either too loose to do anything or too tight when crawling that the harness was putting too much pressure on my hips

I had similar problems to Josh but not his patience to work out the fix. I removed the strap which for me was an improvement.

On my Picos (the Amazonia 2 looks similar) I eventually sorted that problem in the same way as JoshW described.
The other problem was that one of those short connections - it was always the same one but now I don't remember which - quickly used to move to the centre, making it uncomfortable and occasionally painful!
I never worked out why it happened but eventually had to fix it by sewing them to the bum strap with short lengths of waxed thread.
I'm sure that would have voided any guarantee but made it the most comfortable harness I have had.

Hi @JoshW, could you explain a little bit more please the best way to set this up or maybe have a photo to show? I found I had issues with this strap the past few weeks and was considering removing the leg loop connections.

I’m away at the moment, but will try and dig out my old one when I’m back home and send across some photos
