Must be popular.. just ordered one from Starless River but it's "back-order" not "in stock". Will people stop buying it please so I can get my copy 🤣

Tony does have stock after all, he's shipped it
No criticism of Tony intended, but I think his order management software doesn't understand about back-orders - I seem to remember it sent me an email saying my stuff was shipped but it actually meaning that processing the order was complete.

Hi all - I'm looking for communities outside of caving that may be interested in my OFD book - does anyone have any good ideas? Copies are still available at Inglesport, Starless River or direct from me at this order form link. Thanks - see you at Hidden Earth. (Photo is of Edward's Shortcut - OFD 2)

Local towns and villages? Perhaps do a series of talks about the cave locally to generate interest.

Maybe try on Wales/Brecon Beacons hiking group pages on Facebook (ask permission from the admin first)

Have you tried any local national park visitor centres or similar?
They are a good way to catch outdoorsy people, who are interested in the area.

Hi Peter, I've just ordered a copy for myself (really looking forward to seeing it - the sample looks great!) and...a topic that has recently come up informally within Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority (i.e. the National Park 'board') is: how could the National Park better 'promote' the amazing caves within the Park (just to be clear here, we're not talking about encouraging the general public to visit caves in hordes, just to raise awareness of our amazing underground environment) - so it strikes me that getting your book into the visitor centres at Craig-y-Nos and Libanus (and the little shop at Cwm Porth) could be one simple and effective method. I'll pass on your contact details to NP staff if that's OK; and will also post a link into the South Wales Outdoor Instructors FB page.

On this note, (while not local local, it's local enough) there's the Bookish shops in Crickhowell & Abergavenny, and two more independent bookshops in Brecon.

Even if only a few copies are sold, it would certainly help promote caving if it were on display in these places - and might make a good Christmas present for someone who's interested in the outdoors or mining, but not a caver (yet, at least!)

Thanks Steve - that's really useful - I'll chase that - hope you enjoy the book!

Deep under Penwyllt, in the Upper Swansea Valley there is a labyrinth of astonishing cave passages. Undiscovered until 1946, Ogof Ffynnon Ddu now has over 60km of passages large and small, and a thundering underground river, making it the deepest and one of the longest caves in the UK.
The story of its discovery, exploration, mapping and the daring rescue of 2021 have now been put together in a new hardback book full of first class images of this amazing place. Here's a link to a few sample pages https://www.whitespringbooks.co.uk/.../publics.../index.html
It's available by post if you're interested. Photo is of Peter Harvey (the original discoverer) in Gnome Passage in 1976 -- Ask for it for Christmas!
