Are these on sale at the Bowlees Visitor Centre in Teesdale? It's a nice place I often call in for a post-walk tea and cake experience.

Hi I've been away so behind with promoting posts such as this, apologies. Just shared to our facebook page - and will highlight on UKC mid August after the next competition, feel free to remind me :) Thanks for supporting the forum (y)

Got mine - nice little book! Be aware that caving isn't the main theme but anyone who would like a great introduction to the Weardale setting with a focus on its architectural history will find it invaluable. It would be a good companion volume to the Northern Caves guide covering this area, for any caving family visiting Weardale for the first time.

I'm halfway through and enjoying it.

Thanks. Available via an e mail to publications@broomlee.org. Launch/talk Fri 1st Aug Darlington Public Library 1500 hrs, register eventbrite.

Finished reading it now and enjoyed it all.

Peter - you use two spellings for Gothic / Gothick. I'm sure there's a reason for this. Any chance you could let us know? Thanks!

Greet. Gothic is the medieval style with pointed arches, Gothick is its 18th century revival (sometimes ‘Paper Gothic’ or ‘Strawberry Hill Gothic’ ) , the beginnings of the renewed taste for things medieval that found fuller expression of ‘more scholarly’ or ‘textbook’ Gothic (no k) in the 19 th century. If you are an architectural anorak you get to spot these things…..

Excellent; thanks!

I knew there would be an explanation. At least you know I was paying attention!

Loved the book.
