New topos and descriptions - Autumn 2025

We’re pleased to announce a selection of new topos and route descriptions, with thanks to our contributors and anchor installers who have submitted these.

In particular, we have two showpieces, each receiving a brand new topo and description:

High Hull Pot is a splendid and short wet pothole offering plenty or sporting action. One of our installers fell in love with this little gem and decided to take it on as a new project to get others to enjoy it too. This is perfect to combine with nearby Hunt Pot for a day out in low water conditions.

Illusion Pot on East Kingsdale is a cavers' favourite. We're pleased to say that Brunel Rift (the only area needing ropework) now benefits from CNCC anchors to avoid the need for a rather sketchy and dangerous traverse. We have also rectified our surprising previous lack of a route description.

• Illusion Pot (Brunel Rift)

Earlier this year we also published a topo for Link Pot (to reflect existing CNCC anchors which were never previously published) including the entrance pitch and Oche Pot. Work is planned to install new anchors on the traverse to Tiger’s Inlet and add the Serendipity pitches to the topo. There is already a route description.

Numerous other descriptions and topos have received minor updates over the summer, including slight changes to the rigging in Jingling Pot (new anchors for the final pitch, and to replace the tree for the direct hang route) and Rumbling Hole (additional anchors added at some previously single-anchor exposed areas).
