THE LAST ADVENTURE edited by Alan Thomas 1989  75 pp 19 colour photos, 5 B & W photos.  This is a history of cave diving in Britain.  Each chapter has a different author, each an expert in his sphere.  Nicely produced.  Colour cover with glazed boards.  HB ?3.00

ON THE TRACK OF PREHISTORIC MAN by Herbert K?hn 1958 191 pp 33 illus. figs etc.  This is a superb introduction to the painted caves of France and Northern Spain.  With the exception of Altimira [closed] and Lascaux [re-built] the caves are the same today as there were 40 years ago.  SB 1.00

CAVE HUNTING, / Researches on / the Evidence of Caves / respecting the / Early Inhabitants of Europe by W Boyd Dawkins 1874 reprinted 1973 with a forward by Don Mellor xxiv + 455 pp 129 illus, frontis.  A fascinating example of Victoriana covering all aspects of caving, especially, cave archaeology.  Chapters include: History of cave exploration In Europe, Germany, Great Britain, France, Belgium and Southern Europe.  I liked the detailed accounts on the caves on Caldy and at Tenby.  HB DW ex library, but good condition  ?20.00 HB.

MOTHER SHIPTON?S CAVE, Petrifying Well & Historic Park ND [2012?] 14 pp, 10 colour photos.  The Petrifying Well is very efficient, it deposits ? inch layer of stalagmite in 18 months.  Mother Shipton was able to predict the future.  She is reputed to have been born in the cave in 1488 and lived there for 2 years before being adopted.  SB ?1.00
