URGENT WARNING - Reported 24th January 2026 - North by North End Pot

During a recent trip, three boulders came loose from beneath a very large (1.5m squared) boulder on Julian's Leg Up pitch, when the team were ascending, leaving this very large boulder in a partially mobile state and in immenent danger of total collapse by the next visiting group. This boulder is in a location where you might logically step on it. Collapse would potentially release a lot of other material. We urge extreme caution by future visiting groups and would appreciate any further reports.

I recall that not long after we connected the top of Llean Bean aven to the surface (but had since finsihed and moved on), there was a notable collapse involving the last section of boulder slope down to Julian’s Leg Up pitch. The lower third of this last slope down, whilst possibly appearing relatively benign, has, on closer inspection, a good number of boulders which are certainly not 'bedded in' by frequent use, and should be treated with utmost care. To be fare, the whole of the aven from the breakthrough point until you are safely past Julian's Leg Up, contains much loose ground and should be treated with great respect; there have been words to this effect on the CNCC description or some time
