Older photos not showing

Hi All, looks like older photos posted on the forum arent showing - check out my recent post on the 'Ingleborough' thread and rhanks to AlexR for letting me know.

Would they be third party hosted or attachments ? Some of mine went years back when the hosting company Postimages deleted millions of image codes.

The long strings of numbers are FB links, which only had a limited lifespan.

Hi All, here's our answer from Q:

I've had a look at that particular thread and most of the images are from external sources (outside of UK Caving) and it looks like those no longer exist.

Some are related to the Imgur platform which no longer operates in the UK due to the governments Online Safety Act. Basically they refuse to comply so have withdrawn services. Lots of other systems use Imgur to provide their image service so it's possible quite a bit is affected.

Newer posts that are directly uploaded to UKC are fine because they are hosted directly by UKC.

Unfortunately there isn't anything I can suggest as a workaround. Using 3rd party sources are always at risk of they ceasing to exist at some point.
